With his brutal crimes, Jeffrey Dahmer caught the attention of headlines worldwide. Responsible for slaying 17 men and boys,  he will forever remain infamous for his depravity.  Forever haunting the collective, his crimes cost the families of his victims sleep for over 30 years. After his killing spree ended, millions still speculate on the nature of his murders. Although his crimes are brutal and depraved— nothing is more terrifying than his appetite for human flesh.

After his capture, forensic psychiatrists and psychologists performed a battery of psychological tests— exhaustingly searching for answers.  Unlike most serial killers, Dahmer was cooperative and displayed genuine curiosity.  Absent of manipulation, he engaged with mental health professionals, who scoured for the truth.  However, the man himself failed to provide reasoning behind his bizarre behavior.  Today, I will dive deeper into the birth chart of Jeffrey Dahmer. Searching for correlations explaining his disturbing appetite.

Foremost, it’s imperative to break down the Neptune placement of the cannibal.  Residing in the 1st House within the macabre sign of Scorpio,  from a young age, he had an obsessive fascination with death.  Gathering roadkill for dissection wasn’t a typical hobby for most Midwestern Boys.  Neptune, the planet of fantasy and delusions—  when combined with ethereal Scorpio— the daydreams took a dark turn.  Alone with these thoughts– Dahmer forced himself into isolation– diving deeper into despair.

As he aged, the brooding imagination of the future killer regressed.  Puberty hit– instead of a fascination with girls– Dahmer suppressed his homosexuality.  With visions growing increasingly morbid, he began escaping through alcohol.  Growing up, Jeffrey felt he had nowhere to turn.  As the black sheep of the family, he isolated in the woods– conducting his visceral experiments.  Before reaching adulthood, Dahmer’s life took a dark turn.

Lacking a close bond with family, Jeffrey found himself in the crossfire of a bitter divorce.  Joyce, Jeffrey’s mother, essentially kidnapped the youngest Dahmer, David.  Lionel, the patriarch of the Dahmer household, relocated to a nearby motel with his new lover. With the family home abandoned, Jeffrey found himself alone– left only with a gallon of milk.  Dahmer stewed with his thoughts– intoxicated– Dahmer no longer could suppress these urges.

The dark Neptunian fantasies placed Jeffrey into a stranglehold.  In an alcoholic frenzy, Dahmer planned his first murder.  After a thwarted attempt to subdue a shirtless jogger, his fantasies turned towards a hitchhiker.  Picturing it in his head, Dahmer drooled over spotting a bare-chested drifter thumbing for a ride.  Through dark synchronicity, Dahmer’s wishes materialized.

Steven Hicks failed to realize that June 18th, 1978, would be his last day.  Unassuming, Hicks neglected to picture Dahmer as a killer. Returning from a concert, Hicks gladly accepted an invitation for a few drinks at the Dahmer residence.  Dahmer felt that his dreams had come true.  Although not gay himself, he was attracted to 19-year-old Hicks. The two men bonded over beverages. Often alone, Dahmer relished in the company. However, all good things must end.

Ready to bid farewell, Hicks urged Dahmer to complete his promise of transportation.  Dahmer panicked. After months of isolation, his demented visions manifested.  Dahmer refused abandonment.  In a drunken frenzy, Dahmer grabbed a dumbbell handle– bludgeoning the young traveler.

For nine long years, Dahmer suppressed this dark secret.  Refusing to submit to authorities, he resisted the urge to repeat.  However, on November 20th, 1987, inside Milwaukee's Ambassador Hotel, these compulsions won.  After seducing his second victim, Steven Tuomi, Dahmer woke up to a bloody mess. Looking over, he saw Tuomi's chest caved in from a horrendous beating.  Dahmer claimed not being able to recall the crime, though he eventually admitting guilt.  Locked in his own Neptunian prison of alcohol abuse– this became his muse for murder.

At this point, Dahmer remained at large, responsible for two separate murders. Along with his confidence– Dahmer’s sexual fantasies escalated.  As the body count rose, the delusions became more bizarre.  Obsessing over creating a completely subservient lover, Dahmer vilified the corpses of his victims sexually.  Eventually, that wasn’t enough. Dahmer– growing more depraved– felt the urge to consume human flesh.

Needless to say, Dahmer had attachment issues.  Petrified of abandonment, he associated feelings of love with control.  Constantly under the influence of alcohol, Dahmer felt that consuming his victims made them one.  Forever bonded, the dead men were eternally mended with the madman.  After establishing Neptune the prime culprit– let's dissect Jeffrey’s chart thoroughly– giving us something to sink our teeth into.

While Neptune in Scorpio is largely responsible for Jeffrey’s distorted delusions, let’s examine Scorpio’s ruler, Pluto.  Lodged in the 11th House of “friends,” Pluto resides in dutiful Virgo.  Pluto, the Planet of Death, also rules control and power. When in the 11th House, Pluto placed here demands control over others.  Jeffrey had a stacked 8th House. Consisting of the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and the Fixed Star Algol, this troublesome stellium squares his 11th House Pluto.

With a Gemini-Taurus twist, it's apparent why Dahmer wrestled with such daunting thoughts.  With his Sun placed in Gemini at 0 degrees– he must have felt the pull– resembling a tug-of-war.  The Taurian need for calm and stillness is at odds with Gemini’s mutable nature.  Nearby, we find Algol, a fixed star long associated with decapitations, partnered with Venus in her home sign.  With fixed stars, we are usually conservative with conjunctions. Being 3 degrees wide, it's disturbing how many lovers Dahmer beheaded.

Taurus, and Venus– rule the 5 senses– including taste. With his unique palette, Dahmer compared the meat of his captives to filet mignon.  Of course, many with similar placements failed to consume their fellow man.  Adolf Hitler– sharing many commonalities with Dahmer– manifested differently. You can read his chart here. Much of the evidence presented shows tendencies towards cannibalism; however, it’s integral to explore other important points.

Trekking into new territory, asteroids can present a new layer of understanding.  Ceres, placed in Aquarius in the 4th house, entertains Dahmer’s unconventional upbringing.  Dahmer was raised,  yet simultaneously abandoned by his mother, Joyce.  Displaying strong traits of Borderline Personality Disorder, Joyce failed to nurture Jeffrey. Lionel, Jeffrey’s Father, preoccupied with his career, was described as cold and detached.  This lack of support later propelled Dahmer to commit heinous acts of violence.

With his father frequently absent, Dahmer was at the mercy of his drug-addicted mother.  Favoring David, the younger brother, his mother’s love felt vacant–echoing the detached nature of Aquarius.  Jeffrey longed for an unconventional connection.  With his Aquarian Ceres sextile Juno– we unveil another layer of complexity.

The asteroids Ceres and Juno lie 58 degrees apart in the natal chart of Jeffrey Dahmer, resulting in a sextile.

Juno provides additional context into what we seek in partnership– a bond that feels safe, yet consuming.   Placed in Sagittarius in the 3rd House, this entails a restless need for freedom.  When placed here, this often creates a phobia towards commitment.  Jeffrey, notorious for his noncommittal tendencies– sought stability in the taboo. Disinterested in the give-and-take relationships– he fiended for complete dominance.  In a Sagittarian flair,  Dahmer preferred men from other ethnicities.-- coincidentally, most of his victims were black.

Ceres– known as Demeter in Greek Lore– was the goddess of nourishment and harvest.  Placed in Aquarius, a taste for odd or eccentric food is expected.  It’s sextile to Juno blends nourishment with intimacy– a desire to share a meal with your mate.  However, for Dahmer, the mate was the meal.  Both these asteroids respectively form quincunxes to the MC in Cancer; creating an irritating need to express oneself publicly– yet with emotional hesitance.

A quincunx, though minor, is a frictional aspect, requiring constant adjustment. The MC, or Midheaven, is the pinnacle of the chart– symbolic of public life and legacy.  Indicating the need for public recognition, Dahmer surprisingly had his MC in Cancer.  Correlated with family and feelings, these themes feel to neglect Dahmer’s character. Yet, his infamy stems from acts committed in his home, including his home-cooked meals. Combined the sextile of these asteroids completes itself with quincunxes to his MC, forming a mysterious Yod.

A Yod– or “the Finger of God”– is considered a fatalistic configuration– indicating a need for adjustment.  Jeffrey Dahmer, twisted and disturbed,  possessed grotesque sexual needs. Forming the base of the Yod, the sextile between the two asteroids nudged Dahmer towards cannibalism.  Behind closed doors, he committed unthinkable acts.  Eventually, like the noxious fumes seeping out of his apartment, Dahmer’s crimes became public.

Dahmer’s public reputation precedes him.  Considered one of the United States’ most prolific serial killers, Dahmer notably stands out for his unusual appetite.  Rumors indicated that Dahmer graciously fed fellow residents sandwiches at the Oxford apartments.  However, the meat was suspected to be human. Not far from his Cancer MC, lies Dahmer’s attention-seeking Uranus.  Placed in the 10th House in Leo,  he was known as a class clown in school–then later in prison.  Deep down, Dahmer relished in shocking the masses with his deplorable actions.

Not known to be affectionate and loving, many might be surprised to learn that Jeffrey Dahmer has a Cancer MC. Yet, he committed his murders in his own private home-- including making meals of his victims.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article.  It’s always interesting to explore the charts of decrepit individuals such as Dahmer.  Nothing more in society might be as taboo as cannibalism. Yet, he enjoyed the process. Haunted by strange delusions, Dahmer at heart was a lonely, sick man.  Ostracized by his thoughts, he sought connection by nonconventional means.
